Urban Needs in Teacher Education (UNITE) - UNITE is focused on preparing teachers at all levels with knowledge, skills and experience to be a confident urban educator. They seek to achieve excellence in education by creating highly qualified teachers for the nation's most disadvantaged youth. UNITE includes programs starting in high school extending through veteran teacher supports in urban areas. Programs include university chapters; immersion student teaching programs; partnerships with urban schools and their future teacher clubs; professional development for pre-, student, and in-service teachers; immersion-type professional development; and employment supports.
