Request “Quick Instructional Guide”
As part of the ongoing efforts of the
Department of Human Resources to streamline the hiring process, online
staffing has been modified to provide all principals and administrators
with up-to-the-minute information regarding the status of new hires.
Through online staffing, principals and
administrators can complete and submit Staffing Requests for Teachers
and Educational Support Personnel online and track new hires as they
move through the enrollment process.
Following is a step-by-step guide that explains how to complete and
submit Staffing Requests online. The guide also gives in-depth information
about how to track the staffing progress of new hires.
Note: The above DS2 link can only be accessed from within your
school.
Password: Your last name and the last
4 digits of your social security number (e.g. Smith1234).
Note: If you are experiencing difficulties
logging into the DS2 system, remove the “http:\\ from the url (e.g. cpshrsrv1.csc.cps.k12.il.us/ds2/logon/logon.asp). Step 2
Go to the left side of your computer screen and click “Forms.”
Step 3
Under the Forms Menu, click “Online Staffing – Staffing Request Form.”
Step 4
Select a job type from the menu. If the candidate in which you are
trying to complete a staffing request for is a teacher, click “Teacher.” If
the candidate in which you are trying to complete a staffing request
for is an ESP, click “ESP.”
Step 5
Search for the candidate you would like to hire by last name. Please
confirm that the candidate you are attempting to staff meets the minimum
requirements for the position. Please direct the candidate to complete
their personal information online as soon as possible, so they can
begin the enrollment process and there will be no delay in their hiring.
Step 6a Click on the candidate’s name.
Note: If the candidate in which you
selected takes your school out of racial compliance, a note will appear
that states that your school is out of racial compliance. You will
then be given the opportunity to download a Faculty Integration Waiver. The
Waiver will need to be completed and submitted to the Department of
Human Resources before the candidate begins working in your unit. Step 6b If you do not see the candidate’s
name listed in either the teacher or ESP list, click on “fill out
the Quick form.”
This option allows you to enter candidates into the system so that
a Staffing Request can be completed. As this person is a 'Quick Add'
candidate and has not yet submitted their personal information at
the Department of Human Resources Website (www.cps-humanresources.org),
you will not be able to view and evaluate their qualifications on
this page.
Please confirm that the candidate you are attempting to staff meets
the minimum requirements for the position. Please direct the candidate
to complete their personal information online as soon as possible
so they can begin the enrollment process and there will be no delay
in their hiring.
Note: If the candidate in which you
