| Benefits
Chicago Public Schools provides a comprehensive benefits package for employees and their dependents. New Hires have 31 days from their effective hire date to enroll online or by phone for benefits. Coverage goes into effect the first day of the second month following date of hire or enrollment, whichever is later. If new hire does not enroll for benefits within 31 days, the employee must wait until the next opportunity for open enrollment period.
