Chicago Public Schools provides a comprehensive benefits package for employees and their dependents. New Hires have 31 days from their effective hire date to enroll online for benefits. Coverage goes into effect the first of the first month following the date of hire. If new hire does not enroll for benefits within 31 days, the employee must wait until the next opportunity for open enrollment period.
