Outstanding CPS Schools

Morgan Park High School
General High School

Morgan Park offers a college preparatory curriculum enhanced by numerous specialty programs.
The school challenges students by linking the classroom and real-world experience. Among recent accomplishments, the school was recognized as having the most African-American students pass the Advanced Placement (AP) exam in English language and composition, and European history.

The College Board selected Morgan Park High School to participate in their EXCELerator College Prep program. Students have received more than $4.5 million in scholarships, and the school was named the Chicago Public Schools 2003 Athletic School of the Year.

Education To Careers (ETC) programs are offered in information word processing, carpentry/building maintenance, and drafting. Honors classes are offered in nearly every subject. Some of the 17 Advanced Placement (AP) courses offered are English literature, economics, European history, biology, calculus and French.
